Hanoi Law University and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung were authorised by the Vietnamese Government and the Federal Republic of Germany to establish a Centre of German Law at Hanoi Law University.
The Foundation of the Centre of German Law was brought forward by Hanoi Law University of and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. It is financed by an open consortium of German universities and organisations and takes places in the context of the bilateral agreement on cooperation to promote the rule of law between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany from 02/29/2008.
The Centre of German Law gives tutors of the involved universities and organisations in Vietnam and Germany the opportunity of an intensive and constant exchange about topics from doctrine and research.
With the systematic mediation of German and International experiences in processes of legislation and the implementation of law, the centre shall make his active contribution on the way to perfection of the Vietnamese law system.
Until 2020 the Hanoi Law University shall turn out to be the central educational institution in the field of law.
The most important modules in the supply of the Centre of German Law are:
- Realisation of courses in training and retraining of teaching staff, students and people from public institutions and corporations working with law in practice.
- Teaching in German law on the basis of the Curriculum for students in regular and further degree programs at Hanoi Law University. German language courses especially for law students
- Realisation of common workshops an symposiums and research projects in German and Vietnamese law.
- Collection of special literature and magazines for the „Bibliothek Deutsches Recht“ and the appropriation of legal service for different audiences.
- Cooperation with training and research institutions around the world also working with German law.
